俺としては出来る限りの事をやったワケ。で、有る時に疑問に思って聞いたのよ。
「自転車で回っている時はどうだった？」ってね。

ある程度の苦労をしているのは簡単に想像出来る。
まして、言葉も文字も分からないんだから苦労しないワケが無い。

返ってきた答えは『実は殆ど苦労していない。
行く先々で出会った人は全員が親切だった。
正直に言うが、嫌な思いは一回もしていない』だった。

物を買ったらオマケはしてくれるし、荷物で苦労している人を助けたら何度も頭を下げてくれた。
近所でテントを張れる所は無いかと質問したら家に泊まっていけとも言われた。
（なんと、その家には囲炉裏が有ったらしい）
出て行く時には、葉っぱでくるんだライスボール（おにぎり）を持たせてくれた。
（その葉っぱは本国に持ち帰っている）

等々、ここには書ききれない。

右も左も分からない土地で色々な経験を果敢にもチャレンジした彼も凄いが、
それに笑顔で答えた日本人も凄いと思うんだ。

彼はお世話になった人の住所を聞いて、本国に帰ってから全員に手紙を出している。
ここを読んでいる人の中にも、彼からの手紙を受け取っている人がいるかも知れないな。
